Welcome to the art of
M  I  N  E  K  O
There are endless possibilities in the art of abstraction. Formal concerns such as structure, color, and paint application are simply the tools, not the end for me.  As the inner character of the sitter is rendered by a portrait painter, what could be transmitted by the form of abstraction is boundless.  What I have been attempting is to explore the realm of abstracion with what my experiences in life could possibly offer.

"I truly love it: she redeems abstraction from..........  dreariness."
                                                                  ---Stephen Kennamer
"Mineko Yoshida's paintings combine delicacy, sureness, and a fluidity of brushwork that owe a great deal to her training in Japanese calligraphy---a combination that works brilliantly and imbues her work with a unique and highly successful cultural melding. Here is a painter who deserves a wide audience---her images and enactments of the abstract imagination are immensely rich experiences for the viewer."
